Farmington Deputy DA said crime “calls for it”

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) - The District Attorney’s Office in Farmington said it will seek hate crime enhancements on the three men accused of branding a 22-year-old developmentally challenged Native American man with a swastika.

Grants police said they are investigating a series of hate crimes.In just over a week, five homeless Native American men were beaten by a group of people.Police said they have one man in custody Monday.Police said it started June 9.Investigators said they were hoping the first beating was an isolated incident, but it kept happening over and over again to the same group of people.
